Arts Management Support Center "We Provide Consulting for Cultural Arts Cooperatives"
[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Arts Management Support Center are conducting the '2020 Cultural Arts Social Economy Cooperative Consulting.'
The cooperative consulting program is designed to support the establishment and transition of cultural arts cooperatives and to promote the improvement of current issues. It aims to help cultural artists understand the basics of cooperatives, set cooperative goals, develop business models, and establish mid- to long-term operational strategies. The consulting is divided into stages: 'educational consulting' in the form of special lectures and talk concerts, and 'intensive consulting,' which is customized individual consulting.
The educational consulting will be held simultaneously online and offline on August 4. Anyone interested in cooperatives can apply. Actual cooperative founders such as CEO Yeo Woon-tae (Awake Education Culture Contents Cooperative), CEO Lee Ki-bok (Yulmok Sorijitneun Maeul Cooperative), and Chairperson Kim Na-young (Social Cooperative Areumbyeol Cultural Arts Center) will serve as speakers at the talk concert, explaining the reasons for establishing cooperatives and business models to help participants easily understand cooperatives.
The intensive consulting, which will take place from August to December, is divided into 'establishment support' for those aiming to start or establish cooperatives, and 'growth support' for those who have already established cooperatives but need consulting on business model development and overall operation or transition. Arts enterprises, organizations, freelancers, and existing cooperatives can apply.
The Arts Management Support Center will select 15 teams based on the appropriateness of members and social and economic values from the perspective of cultural arts cooperatives. These selected teams will be introduced to suitable professional consultants and receive customized consulting. The 15 selected teams will receive diagnosis and advice on actual operational matters such as personnel, resources, business models, and funding plans, as well as directions for improvement.
