Seoul City announced that a Seoul History Regeneration advisory committee member who had accessed the main office until the 23rd tested positive for COVID-19 on the 27th.
The city temporarily closed the 11th floor of the main building, which the advisory member had visited, sent home the public officials working on that floor, and conducted disinfection. Currently, under the supervision of epidemiological investigators, they are tracking the confirmed patient's movement through closed-circuit television (CCTV) and identifying close contacts.
The Seoul History Regeneration advisory committee member is appointed to provide advice to improve the level of historical and cultural urban regeneration and attends meetings at City Hall on a non-full-time basis whenever there are agenda items. It is known that about 10 people, including City Hall public officials, attended the last meeting the confirmed patient attended on the 23rd.
The 11th floor of City Hall houses departments under the Urban Regeneration Office, such as the Regeneration Policy Division, Urban Activation Division, and Housing Regeneration Division.
Seoul City also suspended the operation of the cafeteria, which is frequented by many internal public officials and outsiders, and the 9th-floor cafe, completed disinfection of the 11th and 6th floors and elevators, and plans to sequentially disinfect the remaining floors by 9 p.m. that day to complete disinfection of the entire main building.
Additionally, starting from the 28th, COVID-19 tests will be conducted for all employees working on the 11th floor, and employees who used the shared restrooms on the 11th floor or elevators 5, 6, and 16 have been notified to undergo COVID-19 testing.
