Yangsan Busan National University Hospital Achieves Highest Grade 1 in Blood Dialysis Appropriateness Evaluation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] On the 27th, Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital in Gyeongnam announced that it received the highest grade, Grade 1, in the 'Hemodialysis Adequacy Evaluation' conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service.
In the recently conducted 'Hemodialysis Adequacy Evaluation,' only 13.1% (103 institutions) of the evaluated institutions received Grade 1. Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital achieved a comprehensive score of 96.9 points, surpassing the overall average of 84.1 points, and was selected as a recipient of additional payments granted only to the top 10% of institutions.
This evaluation was conducted on patients aged 18 and older who underwent hemodialysis at least twice a week for six months from March to August 2018 at 839 medical institutions nationwide.

The evaluation indicators consisted of 13 items, including ▲ the ratio of hemodialysis specialists and nurses ▲ the average number of dialysis sessions per day per doctor and nurse ▲ the availability of isolated hemodialysis machines for hepatitis B patients ▲ the presence of emergency equipment in the dialysis room ▲ adequacy of hemodialysis ▲ and arteriovenous fistula vascular management.
