This new air conditioning technology will be selectively applied to upcoming new models of Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia vehicles.
The new system developed by Hyundai Motor Group consists of three technologies: After Blow technology, Multi Air Mode technology, and Indoor Fine Dust Status Display technology. First, the After Blow technology addresses the issue of air conditioner odors inside vehicles during summer by drying the evaporator where condensation forms. It prevents mold growth by drying the damp evaporator with airflow.
After the driver turns off the engine, a natural drainage process of condensation water on the evaporator occurs for 30 minutes. Then, the After Blow activates the blower motor to dry the remaining condensation on the evaporator and air passages for 10 minutes. During this time, the air conditioning system automatically switches to outside air intake to prevent the interior from becoming humid. Notably, the After Blow technology monitors the battery charge level through the Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) and will not operate if the battery charge is insufficient.

When Multi Air Mode is activated, air is dispersed not only through the existing vents but also through newly added Multi Air Slots located at the driver and passenger seats. Although the total airflow volume remains the same, air flows in various directions from multiple vents, evenly distributing throughout the interior.
The newly added Multi Air Slots feature air screens with fine perforations that soften the airflow and reduce skin irritation by preventing direct contact of air with the occupants' skin.
Lastly, the new Indoor Fine Dust Status Display technology measures the air quality inside the vehicle in real-time and quantifies fine dust information to inform the driver. It displays the concentration of ultrafine dust based on PM2.5 standards as a single-digit number, providing a more intuitive indication of air quality. Additionally, the display uses different colors according to the concentration and pollution level of ultrafine dust to enhance visibility. For PM2.5 ultrafine dust concentrations of 0?15 μg/m³, the color is blue; 16?35 μg/m³ is green; 36?75 μg/m³ is orange; and 76 μg/m³ or higher is red.

When the air purification button is pressed and the ultrafine dust concentration rises to the 'Poor (orange)' level or higher, the system activates to purify the interior air. The air conditioning blower speed automatically adjusts from level 3 up to the maximum level 8.
