[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] The Gyeongbuk Northern Veterans Affairs Office (Director Woo Jin-su) announced on the 25th that it is holding a National Defense and Peace Painting Exhibition in the Andong Station waiting room to commemorate United Nations Forces Veterans Day on the 27th.
The event, which began on the 23rd and will run until the 30th, features about 20 winning works from the 'Children's National Defense and Peace Drawing Contest' held this year to mark the 70th anniversary of the Korean War.
An official from the Veterans Affairs Office said, "This is an occasion to remember the sacrifices and contributions of 900,000 Republic of Korea Armed Forces and 1.95 million United Nations Forces veterans who defended the freedom and democracy of the Republic of Korea," adding, "We hope this will be a valuable time to reflect on the significance of United Nations Forces Veterans Day."
