Jung Sye-kyun: "Prosecutors' Office Act, Constitutional Court Submitted Opinion of Constitutionality"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun stated regarding the constitutional complaint filed by the United Future Party against the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency (HCIA) Act, "(The government) has submitted an opinion to the Constitutional Court affirming its constitutionality."
On the same day, during a government question session on politics, diplomacy, unification, and security, Prime Minister Chung responded to a question from Park Beom-gye of the Democratic Party of Korea, who asked about the opposition party's claim that the HCIA Act is unconstitutional.
Prime Minister Chung added, "I understand that two members of the United Future Party have each filed constitutional complaints; for one case, we have submitted an opinion supporting constitutionality, and we will soon submit one for the other case as well."

He further stated, "We expect the agency to function properly so that the concerns raised by the opposition party do not materialize," and added, "No one in the executive branch can manipulate the HCIA, and since those subject to investigation are mostly government and ruling party figures, there is no need for concern."
