SK Networks Used Phone Trading Device 'Mintit ATM' Surpasses 10,000 Donated Used Phones
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The number of donated used phones from customers using SK Networks' unmanned used phone transaction device, 'Mintit ATM,' surpassed 10,000 units on the 22nd.
Mintit, SK Networks' information and communication technology (ICT) recycling business brand, introduced the Mintit ATM at the end of July last year to enable transparent and safe used phone distribution. The Mintit ATM allows phone function checks, price inquiries, purchase, and settlement to be completed on-site in one process. Additionally, it offers a menu for donating the evaluated value of used phones, encouraging customers to participate in social contribution. As a result, over 10,000 used phones have been donated within one year of operation.
During this period, a total of 187,000 used phones were collected through Mintit ATM, and the donation amount from customers reached approximately 20 million KRW. Mintit raised a total of 40 million KRW by adding an additional 10,000 KRW donation per donated phone through year-end campaigns and other methods, which was delivered to Save the Children.
To commemorate surpassing 10,000 donated used phones, Mintit presented appreciation gifts such as Walkerhill Hotel Pizza Hill vouchers to the 10,000th donor, the customer with the highest number of donations, and the customer who donated the most valuable used phone on the 20th.
Going forward, Mintit plans to strengthen the culture of used phone distribution through Mintit ATM based on customer-centered services utilizing advanced technology and evolve into an ICT recycling platform business brand that supports neighbors and the environment.
Currently, Mintit ATM operates at over 500 locations nationwide, including large supermarkets, Samsung Digital Plaza, and government offices. Recently, Mintit developed the 'Mintit mini ATM,' which adds data deletion and transfer functions to the existing features, and it is being installed at major SK Telecom agencies.
