On the morning of the 20th, Kim Jae-ryeon, the victim's legal representative, said in front of her office, "We will hold a press conference related to the late former Mayor Park as soon as possible within this week." However, Kim added, "The date and time of the press conference have not been decided yet."
When asked by reporters whether additional revelations might be made at the second press conference, Kim replied, "Initially, only part of the victim's experience was shared because the general public has the right to know why the accused (the late former Mayor Park) ended up dying, and these matters should be clarified through investigative agencies."
Regarding the dismissal of the communication warrant for the late former Mayor Park's mobile phone on the 17th, Kim explained, "The warrant was requested to verify whether it was a homicide, so it is unrelated to the current accusation."
When asked about Police Chief Nominee Kim Chang-ryong repeatedly giving only general statements regarding the investigation related to the late former Mayor Park, Kim said, "Since the accused has passed away, it seems the investigation progress is not easy," but added, "Although the victim voiced complaints, I am not sure whether they were properly conveyed to the highest authority."
She continued, "Whether there was complicity during that process can be investigated regardless of the accused's death," and said, "Therefore, the Women Lawyers Association is also actively requesting continued thorough investigations." However, she added, "Since the accused is deceased, aside from investigating complicity, there are practical and ultimate limitations."
