According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 19th, patient number 76, who was undergoing isolation treatment, passed away that afternoon.
Patient 76 was a man in his 70s residing in Jungheung-dong, Buk-gu, who was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on the 1st in connection with Geumyang Officetel and was receiving treatment at Chosun University Hospital.
Currently, among the 100 patients receiving COVID-19 treatment in Gwangju, 3 are in severe condition, 3 in moderate condition, and 94 are mild cases.
Previously, on the 16th, the first COVID-19 death in Gwangju (a woman in her 90s) was reported.
Meanwhile, since the second wave of COVID-19 began in Gwangju on the 27th of last month, 154 people have been confirmed positive.
By infection route, 40 are related to Gwangju Sarang Church, 32 to Geumyang Officetel, 28 to Ilgok Central Church, 14 to Gwangju Gosi Academy, 13 to a badminton club, 8 to Gwangneuksa Temple, 11 from contact with other cities/provinces (Songpa patient number 60), 5 imported cases, and 2 under investigation.
By age group, there are 5 under 10 years old, 6 in their teens, 6 in their 20s, 11 in their 30s, 20 in their 40s, 32 in their 50s, 43 in their 60s, 18 in their 70s, 8 in their 80s, and 5 in their 90s.
