Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (Head Lee Jong-ho) explained, "During the PCS card replacement process, a false signal caused the reactor coolant pump to stop, resulting in the automatic shutdown of the reactor."
The PCS (Plant Control System) card is a card that transmits signals to the power plant control system and functions to send stop signals to the reactor coolant pump, etc., in case of abnormal plant conditions or false signals.
Hanul Nuclear Power Plant is currently analyzing the cause of the incident. According to Hanul Nuclear Power Plant, there was no external radiation leakage due to this shutdown, and the plant remains in a safe condition.
