Wonkang University Department of Companion Animal Industry Signs Agreement with Companion Animal Association Member Companies "Expecting Development"
Promotion of Industry-Academia Collaboration with Five Affiliated Member Companies and Others
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] The Department of Companion Animal Industry at the College of Agricultural and Food Convergence, Wonkwang University in Jeonbuk announced on the 17th that it has signed a business agreement for industry-academic cooperation in the companion animal industry with the Korea Companion Animal Enterprise Association and five member companies affiliated with it.
According to Wonkwang University, the agreement ceremony took place on the 15th in the conference room of the College of Agricultural and Food Convergence, attended by Department Head Kim Ok-jin, Chairman Han Sang-deok, and representatives from member companies such as Atopet (CEO Choi Woo-jin), Petterior (CEO Kim Myung-hee), and J-Roy (CEO Lim Jae-young).
The participating organizations agreed through this agreement to mutually cooperate for fostering professional manpower in the companion animal industry, revitalizing industry-academic cooperation, developing new companion animal products, and presenting development models for the companion animal industry.
Department Head Kim Ok-jin said, “We expect the activated industry-academic cooperation through the agreement with the Korea Companion Animal Enterprise Association, which plays a central role in the rapidly growing companion animal industry,” and added, “We will make further efforts for technical guidance, consulting, and training related experts.”
Following this, Chairman Han Sang-deok said, “We expect that close cooperation with Wonkwang University’s Department of Companion Animal Industry will greatly help in solving difficulties faced by member companies, discovering business models, developing companion animal-related products, and fostering the growth of member companies.”

Meanwhile, the Korea Companion Animal Enterprise Association supports the development of small and medium-sized enterprises related to companion animals and the growth of a proper companion animal culture by providing employment support and job creation in the companion animal industry, supporting domestic distribution of the companion animal industry, and offering management and technical consulting for overseas expansion.
