Seoul Metropolitan Council Chairperson and Standing Committee Chairs Visit Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and Namsan Life Treatment Center for Encouragement on the 16th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the morning of the 16th, Kim In-ho, the 10th Speaker of the Seoul Metropolitan Council for the second half of the term, along with the Speaker's group and standing committee chairpersons, visited the Seoul Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and Namsan Residential Treatment Center, which are frontline sites for COVID-19 response, to encourage the efforts of the staff working hard to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to listen to their difficulties.
Speaker Kim In-ho expressed his ambition to become a practical speaker who conducts field-centered legislative activities immediately after his election. Following his first legislative activity on July 1, the first day of his term, when he visited the cleaning staff at the Seoul Metropolitan Council building, he continued his field-centered legislative activities by visiting the COVID-19 response sites this time.
During the visit, Jo In-dong, Director of Planning and Coordination, reported in a field briefing at the Seoul Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters that an advisory group consisting of infectious disease and communication experts has been introduced, focusing capabilities on preventing the spread of infectious diseases and stabilizing citizens.
Next, at the Namsan Residential Treatment Center, Kim Tae-gyun, Administrative Director, reported on the status of confirmed patient admissions and the current status of COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment response.
They also checked the patient monitoring CCTV demonstration and admission management procedures, and listened to the difficulties and challenges faced by the medical staff from Boramae Hospital who are dispatched to the residential treatment center.

Speaker Kim In-ho listened to the field briefing and the difficulties of the staff, saying, “Thanks to everyone’s dedication in their respective positions, Seoul has succeeded in quarantine to this extent and has been able to write an advanced case that the world is paying attention to,” and encouraged, “The Metropolitan Council will work solely on responding to the COVID-19 crisis and stabilizing people’s livelihoods as a joint responsible party for citizen safety and happiness.”
