Wemade Wins 'Mir 2' Copyright Lawsuit in Chinese Court
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Wemade has won a lawsuit related to the 'Legend of Mir 2' IP (intellectual property rights).
On the 15th, according to Wemade, the Beijing Intellectual Property Court concluded that the web games 'Jeongi Segye' by Shengqu Games and 'Geumjang Jeongi' by 37Games infringed on the copyright of Mir 2.
The court accepted Wemade's request to ban the service of these Chinese games and decided to suspend the service of the two web games.
Wemade announced that Shengqu Games and 37Games have immediately stopped the service and marketing of the two games and have destroyed all related materials.
Wemade is currently engaged in lawsuits against 37Games regarding copyright infringement for the web games 'Jeongi Paeop', 'Geumjang Jeongi', and the mobile games 'Jeongi Paeop', 'Doryong Pahyo', 'Hwanggeum Jaegyeol', and 'Wangseong Yeongung', winning in three of these cases. Wemade won against the web games 'Jeongi Paeop' and 'Geumjang Jeongi', and the mobile game 'Jeongi Paeop'.
However, separate from the lawsuits, Wemade stated that it has signed official license agreements with 37Games for games such as 'Ildo Jeonse', 'Ildo Doryong', and 'Changwol Doryong'.

Jang Hyun-guk, CEO of Wemade, said, "We are pursuing copyright violations judicially to the end, while also resolving issues through negotiations on the other hand," adding, "We are employing a two-track strategy to bring 37Games into the legal domain."
