Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education Conducts Comprehensive Survey on Student Athletes' Human Rights Conditions
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] The Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education will conduct a survey from the 6th to the 17th targeting 3,930 student athletes from about 370 school sports teams across the province to inspect the actual conditions regarding school sports team (sexual) violence and the protection of student athletes' human rights.
In response to recent issues of violence in the sports community, as a measure to protect the human rights of student athletes, Gyeongsangbuk-do explained that a full survey will be conducted on elementary, middle, and high school sports teams within the province.
Accordingly, on the 3rd, an emergency meeting was held at the Pohang Office of Education for those in charge of school sports affairs. The main topics included the method of conducting the full survey on student athletes' human rights conditions, measures to prevent sports (sexual) violence, and ways to strengthen the protection of student athletes' human rights.
