Recruitment of Candidates for the 'Seoul City Traffic Culture Award' ... Additional Contributors to 'COVID-19' Spread Prevention
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 2nd that it is accepting nominations for candidates for the '2020 Seoul Metropolitan City Traffic Culture Award' until the 20th of next month to establish a safe urban traffic culture and realize a walkable Seoul.
Started in 1999 and now in its 22nd year, the Seoul Traffic Culture Award is presented annually to citizens or organizations who have contributed to the public value of citizens through the safety of Seoul's urban traffic and the development of traffic culture.
The number of awards is a total of six (teams), including 1 Grand Prize, 2 Excellence Awards, and 3 Merit Awards, regardless of individual or organization. Candidates for the award are individuals or organizations who have contributed to traffic safety and the development of traffic culture, such as ▲ traffic campaigns, traffic-related education and research activities ▲ dedication to community development through traffic volunteering ▲ long-term diligent work in the traffic field ▲ individuals or organizations demonstrating expertise and dedication in traffic fields such as pedestrian-friendly initiatives and realizing a walkable Seoul.
In particular, this year's ceremony will add citizens and organizations who have contributed to traffic safety and traffic culture development through quarantine and preventive activities to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) as additional nominees, enhancing the significance of the Traffic Culture Award.
Eligibility requirements stipulate that as of the announcement date, individuals or organizations must have continuously resided or operated a business in Seoul for more than three years.
Nominations must be made by administrative agencies or registered private organizations, and unregistered organizations or individuals can be nominated with a recommendation letter signed by more than 10 people. After investigating and verifying the public facts of the submitted candidates and undergoing a review by a public evaluation committee composed of related experts, the final awardees will be selected, and plaques will be presented at the award ceremony scheduled for October 27.
