"Man in His 40s Stabs Hongdae Chinese Restaurant Owner After 'Spoke Rudely'"

On the 30th, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had applied for an arrest warrant on charges of attempted murder against a man in his 40s, Mr. A, who was arrested for stabbing the owner of a Chinese restaurant in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, at around 9 a.m. the previous day. The prosecution requested the court to issue the arrest warrant for Mr. A, and the court held a pre-arrest suspect hearing (warrant review) on the same day.

The perpetrator, a man in his 40s, visited the Chinese restaurant early in the morning and stabbed the owner, Mr. B, multiple times in the side with a weapon, reportedly because Mr. B "spoke unpleasantly." Mr. B was transported to Severance Hospital in Sinchon and is reported to be in a condition that is not life-threatening.
