The scholarships can be used for tuition, textbook purchases, and expenses for developing special talents.
At the event, members of the 'Woori Multicultural Orchestra' performed a congratulatory piece, and cases of scholarship recipients such as Park Eun-young, who fulfilled her dream of becoming a Korean medicine doctor, and teacher Lee Myung-chul were introduced through a video.
Chairman Sohn Tae-seung said, "I am very pleased to be able to select outstanding talents with clear goals and dreams as scholarship recipients," and added, "We will generously support nurturing future talents who are the hope of our society."
The Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation is a public foundation established in 2012 with a 20 billion KRW endowment from Woori Bank and other Woori Financial Group affiliates. It has selected scholarship students annually and has provided scholarships totaling about 3.8 billion KRW to 4,170 students to date.
