The main reasons cited are its affordable annual fee of 7,000 KRW and the discount benefits offered without any monthly spending requirements or discount limits.
According to Samsung Card on the 26th, the KakaoBank Samsung Card provides a 0.5% discount benefit at all domestic and international merchants without any monthly spending conditions or discount limits. In particular, essential daily life sectors such as discount stores, convenience stores, and supermarkets offer a 1% discount benefit without any monthly spending requirements or discount limits.
Additionally, the card reflects the consumption patterns of KakaoBank users in its product services. If the previous month's spending exceeds 500,000 KRW, a 3% discount benefit is provided up to a maximum of 5,000 KRW per month for payments made in online shopping malls, delivery apps, health & beauty, and fresh food delivery sectors. Also, a 5% discount benefit up to 5,000 KRW per month is available in coffee shops and public transportation sectors.
For streaming sectors such as Netflix, Wavve, and Melon, if the previous month's spending exceeds 500,000 KRW, a 20% discount benefit is given up to 5,000 KRW per month for payments of 6,000 KRW or more per transaction. Additionally, at movie theaters like CGV and Lotte Cinema, a 5,000 KRW discount benefit is provided once a month for payments of 12,000 KRW or more. For payment amounts exceeding the discount limits in each sector, a basic 0.5% discount benefit is applied without limits.
