Three Gas Stations Selling Fake Oil Caught
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea Petroleum Management Service announced on the 25th that it, in collaboration with the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, has uncovered three gas stations selling counterfeit petroleum.
The Petroleum Management Service inspected 226 farms and petroleum businesses from the 18th of last month to the 12th of this month.
Among them, 10 cases of counterfeit petroleum were identified, and after a backtracking investigation, these were uncovered.
These gas stations, located in Gangwon-do and the Cheonan area, sold fake diesel fuel made by mixing kerosene and diesel, disguised as duty-free fuel, thereby earning illicit profits.
The Petroleum Management Service plans to hold a practical workshop with the Agricultural Products Quality Management Service to share results and promote a second joint inspection in the second half of the year.
