11 New COVID-19 Cases in Seoul Today Including a 30s Confirmed Patient at Jungnang-gu Gym

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Ji-hwan Park] COVID-19 cluster infections continue unabated across various parts of Seoul.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that between midnight and 6 p.m. on the 23rd, 11 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Seoul, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,241.
There were 3 new cases related to a nursing facility in Dobong-gu (total 42), 1 case related to the direct sales company Richway (total 117), and 1 imported case (total 296). Four cases are currently under investigation for their infection routes, and 2 cases are classified as 'others.'
In Jungnang-gu, another confirmed case emerged among gym users where multiple infections had already occurred. A 39-year-old woman (resident of Muk 1-dong, case number 32 in the district), who exercised at the same time as the previously confirmed Jungnang case number 24, tested negative in her first test on the 11th but tested positive in a retest on the 22nd.
The first confirmed case among these gym users, case number 24, was a student at the Principal Language Academy in Gangnam-gu, where a cluster infection related to Richway occurred, making this a case of sequential infection linked to Richway.
In Dobong-gu, two additional confirmed cases related to the nursing facility (cases 59 and 60 in the district) were reported in the morning. In the afternoon, a 57-year-old female home care worker (resident of Dobong-dong, case 61 in the district) also tested positive. In Guro-gu, a 38-year-old man (resident of Gaebong 2-dong) working at a company in Yeongdeungpo-gu tested positive and was registered as case number 81 in the district.
In Gwanak-gu, an 86-year-old woman (resident of Sinsa-dong, case 86 in the district), a 91-year-old man who was her contact (resident of Sinsa-dong, case 87 in the district), and a 55-year-old woman living in Jungang-dong (case 85 in the district) were confirmed positive. However, their infection routes have not yet been identified.

Additionally, a 38-year-old man (resident of Jungang-dong) who had contact with Guro case number 81 on the 12th also tested positive and was counted as case number 88 in Gwanak-gu. In Gangdong-gu, a man in his 70s (resident of Myeongil-dong, case 34 in the district) and a woman in her 40s (resident of Amsa 1-dong, case 35 in the district) were confirmed positive.
