Changwon City, Carbon Point Program Incentive Payment for the Second Half of 2019
Payment of 453.24 Million KRW to 36,601 Households
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 23rd that it will provide incentives totaling 453.24 million KRW to 36,601 households that joined the Carbon Point Program and saved energy in the second half of last year.
As a result of operating the Carbon Point Program during the second half of last year, 68.9% of all participating households saved energy, and among them, 62% received incentives through energy reduction. This contributed to a reduction of 6,643 tons of greenhouse gases, which is equivalent to planting more than one million 30-year-old pine trees.
The Carbon Point Program is a program that provides an annual incentive of up to 100,000 KRW based on the reduction rate when households reduce their electricity, water, and city gas usage by more than 5% compared to the average usage over the past two years. Currently, about 98,000 households in Changwon City are enrolled in the program.
Anyone can easily participate in the Carbon Point Program by using the Carbon Point Program website or by visiting the local town, township, or neighborhood community service center of their address to fill out and submit the Carbon Point Program participation application form.
