View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] As Incheon International Airport Corporation announced that it will directly employ security screening workers, Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the Future United Party, raised his voice of criticism, saying, "President Moon Jae-in should cancel the Incheon Airport lotto employment and apologize to the youth."
On the 23rd, Rep. Ha shared an article titled "From part-time to regular? Shocking conversion of Incheon Airport security personnel" on his Facebook and made these remarks.
Rep. Ha strongly criticized, saying, "Are hardworking young students also considered deep-rooted evils by the Moon administration?" and "The unconditional regularization of irregular workers at Incheon Airport, which President Moon visited for the first time after his inauguration, has ultimately turned out to be lotto employment."
He continued, "What young people want is equal opportunities for those who are prepared, but the Moon administration has created a world where hardworking youth become easy targets," and "President Moon, who has destroyed the value of fairness in the Republic of Korea, should admit his mistakes and apologize to the youth."
He emphasized, "Incheon Airport is still the most desired public enterprise for young people who stay up late studying," and "The decision by Incheon Airport is not simply about eliminating new jobs but about kicking away the ladder of opportunity for hundreds of thousands of young people. It made us doubt what it means to live diligently in Korea."
He also urged, "This is an antisocial crime that has shaken the foundation of the community order in Korea," and "If fairness is shaken, Korea will collapse. President Moon should admit his mistakes now and withdraw the indiscriminate regularization."
Earlier, on the 22nd, Koo Bon-hwan, president of Incheon Airport Corporation, held a briefing at Incheon Airport and announced, "We will directly employ 1,902 passenger security screening workers in the form of 'security guards.'"
The corporation plans to directly employ security personnel who joined before the May 2017 declaration of regularization after a qualification screening process including document screening, personality tests, and interviews. Security personnel who joined after the declaration will be directly employed through an open competition process, so a significant number of failures are expected. The labor union reportedly opposes this, saying the direct employment conversion plan was hastily made without measures to secure employment stability for those who fail.

In response, the corporation stated, "The contract with security screening workers lasts until June, so the regularization plan was released quickly, and we could not closely consult with the union," adding, "We will proceed with the hiring process first and prepare relief measures for those who fail."
