Jeonbuk Agricultural High Schools FFK Advancement Competition to be Held on the 23rd
"September Nationwide Tournament Selection Purpose 'COVID-19' Spread Unavoidable"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Lee Geon-ju] Jeonbuk Office of Education announced on the 22nd that the '49th Jeollabuk-do Young Farmers Advancement Competition' will be held on the 23rd from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Jeonju Life Science High School.
Hosted by the Office of Education and co-organized by the FFK Jeonbuk Branch and the Korea Agricultural Education Association Jeonbuk Branch, this competition will be held under the theme "A Better Future Through Agriculture."
The Office of Education holds the Young Farmers Advancement Competition annually to present a progressive model for agricultural education, foster outstanding talents in the agricultural life sciences field, and help students develop leadership, cooperation, and scientific skills.
The competition consists of 21 events across five categories: major contests showcasing agricultural knowledge and skills, practical contests testing hands-on abilities, task completion, global leadership, and the FFK Golden Bell.
About 260 representatives from each school's FFK advancement competition will participate to demonstrate their expertise and the skills they have honed so far.
Students with excellent results will represent Jeonbuk at the National Young Farmers Festival to be held in September. The national competition will take place at Andong Life Science High School in Gyeongbuk.

An official from the Office of Education stated, "Although we are cautious due to the current spread of COVID-19 in Jeonbuk, it is unavoidable because of the selection process for the national competition," adding, "Evaluation at the advancement competition for agricultural high school students is linked to career paths and employment, so cancellation is difficult."
