View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] The Integrated Defense Council of Changwon City, Gyeongnam, announced on the 22nd that it held the 2nd quarter Integrated Defense Meeting in the City Hall Citizen Hall to share security situations and cultivate security awareness among local residents.
The council is chaired by Changwon Mayor Heo Seong-mu, and about 30 members including the Changwon Office of Education, police station, military units, and related organizations attended this meeting. The agenda included watching a security video, reporting on the achievements and operational plans of the Integrated Defense Council, and reporting on military unit activities.
The council shared the response and progress status of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) quarantine and reorganized the integrated defense roles among related organizations amid rapidly changing international situations. It also resolved to maintain a cooperative system to strengthen integrated defense response capabilities in case of increasing occurrences of terrorism, cyberattacks, natural disasters, and social disasters.

Mayor Heo Seong-mu of Changwon said, “We hope to not only strengthen security capabilities by establishing a close cooperation and coordination system among civilians, government, military, and police but also achieve mutual development in all fields such as economy, hydrogen, and aviation parts.” He added, “We will do our best to protect the lives and property of citizens by enhancing crisis management capabilities for comprehensive security concepts such as social disasters and terrorism.”
