On the morning of the 22nd, at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly, Lee said, "The Democratic Party activated six standing committees for the swift review of the supplementary budget, but other standing committees have yet to be formed, preventing normal dialogue. I cannot help but ask the United Future Party once again whether their internal matters are more important than the crisis faced by millions of self-employed people."
He continued, "The patience of the Democratic Party has limits. The patience of the people also has limits," adding, "No matter what happens this week, the formation of the standing committees must be completed, and next week the third supplementary budget must be approved. I urge the United Future Party not to miss the opportunity to return and to express their position through proper channels."
Regarding inter-Korean relations, he said, "The 21st century is the era of smart technology, yet the idea of distributing leaflets that belonged to the 1970s is completely outdated and pointless," and added, "I strongly urge the government to respond firmly by mobilizing public authority. We also demand that North Korea comply with the Panmunjom Declaration."
