The amendment includes provisions for the government and local governments to reduce fees for the use of public facilities, admission fees, and service charges for people who donate blood frequently. It also allows for the establishment of criteria for selecting distinguished blood donation families and rewarding multiple-time donors to foster a social atmosphere of blood donation.
Rep. Hong emphasized, "The trend of decreasing blood donations, combined with the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), has triggered an emergency regarding blood supply for transfusions," adding, "A blood donation activation bill is necessary to expand participation and solve blood supply problems."
