Jeonbuk's 22nd Female High School Student Confirmed Case Dined Next to Daejeon Confirmed Cases for '5 Minutes'...
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Gominhyeong] The source of infection for the 22nd confirmed case in Jeonbuk, a high school girl from Jeonju, is being revealed.
Jeonbuk's quarantine authorities announced in an emergency briefing on the 20th that the confirmed high school girl had a meal at the same place as Daejeon confirmed cases number 50 and 55, who visited Jeonju, and it is presumed that the infection occurred during this process.
Daejeon confirmed cases 50 and 55 attended a direct sales briefing with about 80 people on the 6th floor of Building A in Shinshigaji, Jeonju, from 1:30 PM to 6 PM on the 12th.
During this time, they had a meal from 5:15 PM to 5:44 PM at a nearby Shinshigaji youth cafe.
The provincial quarantine authorities confirmed through CCTV that the Jeonbuk 22nd high school girl had a meal at a neighboring table with them for ‘5 minutes’ starting at 5:15 PM, and considering the characteristics of the COVID-19 virus, it is presumed that infection was possible in this situation.
The problem was that the delay in identifying the infection source of the 22nd high school girl was due to the non-cooperation of the Daejeon confirmed cases and the direct sales operators.
The quarantine authorities reported that Daejeon confirmed cases 50 and 55 began showing symptoms on the 13th and 14th respectively, were confirmed on the 16th and 17th, and did not disclose their visit to Jeonju.
In particular, regarding a direct sales business in Jeonju that they visited, CCTV footage confirmed that about 80 people came and went at the location, but the business owner only disclosed partial lists of 9 people residing in Seoul and Daejeon, causing difficulties.
The health authorities urged those who visited the same place during the relevant time to contact the health center.
