Namwon-si 2020 Recyclable Resources Competition Evaluation Wins Jeollabuk-do 'Excellence Award'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Namwon City (Mayor Ihwanju) announced on the 18th that it was selected as the best local government among 14 cities and counties in the province in the categories of recyclable resource collection performance, recycling policy support, and separate collection support at the ‘2020 Recyclable Resource Collection and Sorting Competition’ hosted by the Korea Circular Resource Distribution Support Center.
Namwon City has made great efforts to increase the collection rate of recyclable resources by promoting projects such as installing recycling neighborhood yards, operating separate discharge promotion teams, organizing tours of waste treatment facilities, and conducting exchange programs for used batteries and paper packs.
In particular, the exchange criteria for the used battery and paper pack exchange program are one 20L garbage bag per 240g of used batteries and one roll of toilet paper per 10 to 20 paper packs. This program is significant as it allows citizens to directly participate in increasing the collection rate of recyclable resources.
