According to Daegu City on the 17th, a man in his 30s residing in Buk-gu tested positive after undergoing a specimen test at the Dongdaegu Station walk-through testing site following his arrival from Pakistan on the 15th.
Accordingly, as of midnight on the same day, the number of confirmed cases in Daegu increased by one from the previous day to 6,895. The number of recovered patients rose by one from the previous day to 6,757 (97.99%). The death toll stands at 185. Currently, 35 confirmed patients are receiving treatment in hospitals (34) and residential treatment centers (1).
In Daegu, there were no new COVID-19 cases for three consecutive days starting from the 9th, but on the 12th, middle school students in Buk-gu and Dalseo-gu tested positive, followed by three family members returning from France confirmed on the 13th. On the 14th, a woman in her 20s living in Dalseo-gu and a man in his 40s returning from Mexico were confirmed positive. There were no new cases for the following two days.

Meanwhile, in the Gyeongbuk region, no new COVID-19 cases have been reported for 11 consecutive days as of midnight on the 17th. This 11-day streak without new cases is the longest since the first confirmed case in Gyeongbuk on February 19.
