[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] "Enjoy your meal and come again!", "Please continue your business like this for a long time!"
On the 17th, Seoul City and the Seoul City Bus Transportation Association announced the launch of the 'Hope Bus 2nd Campaign' to deliver messages of support to citizens exhausted by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The Bus Transportation Association attached wrapping advertisements on the inside and outside of a total of 50 vehicles across 11 routes to encourage traditional market small business owners who are working hard despite difficulties such as decreased sales due to COVID-19 and to promote citizens' visits to markets.
The campaign involved merchant associations from Seoul's Gyeongdong Market, Ttukdo Market, Mangwon Market, Yeongcheon Market, and Yongmun Market. Merchants representing each market express their determination to overcome COVID-19 through everyday but warm greetings.
This is not the first Hope Bus campaign jointly conducted by Seoul City and the Bus Transportation Association. In May, as part of social distancing in daily life, warm messages and drawings from the perspective of elementary school students facing online classes were displayed to comfort and encourage citizens and city bus passengers.
Since the 15th of last month, all city buses in Seoul have been operating with 'Thanks to You Challenge' stickers attached, and in connection with the Hope Bus campaign, small business owners' products were purchased and donated to Seoul Medical Center, expressing gratitude to medical staff fighting COVID-19.
