Gwangju Seo-gu Council Passes Standing Committee on Partial Amendment to Birth Support Ordinance

The Seo-gu Council of Gwangju announced on the 16th that the 'Partial Amendment to the Ordinance Supporting Childbirth Promotion in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City' has passed the relevant standing committee.
It is known that Councilor Kim Young-seon proposed the amendment to actively address social issues caused by declining birth rates and to alleviate the economic cost burden associated with childbirth preparation after pregnancy.
The revised ordinance newly defines 'Pregnancy and Childbirth Celebration Goods' and includes details on the support contents, standards, and application procedures for these goods.
'Pregnancy and Childbirth Celebration Goods' refer to items provided to support the healthy childbirth of mothers and the nurturing of newborns. The application period is set from the 16th week of pregnancy until before childbirth.
Additionally, families preparing for childbirth can apply to the Seo-gu Public Health Center by submitting the documents listed in the attached form.
