[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] Wonkwang University announced on the 15th that Professor Choi Se-jin of the Department of Architectural Engineering at the College of Creative Engineering received the Excellent Paper Award from the Korean Institute of Building Construction.
The Korean Institute of Building Construction, established in 2001 for academic activities and industry-academia-research technology development to advance the domestic construction industry, has about 5,000 members. It selects the best paper published in its journal over the past year and awards the Paper Award annually.
Professor Choi Se-jin's paper, which studies the physical and strength characteristics of concrete using artificial lightweight aggregates?a topic gaining attention with the recent increase in super-tall structures?received great interest and high praise from the judges.
Meanwhile, at the academic conference held at the KT Daejeon Human Resources Development Center, about 100 academic papers and poster presentations were made, and senior student Bae Seong-ho from the Department of Architectural Engineering won the Best Academic Award in the poster presentation category.

Professor Choi Se-jin, who is listed in the world’s three major biographical dictionaries, "Marquis Who's Who in the World" and the International Biographical Centre (IBC) in Cambridge, UK, was also selected as the recipient of the 2018 Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and the "Scientist Medal" from the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM).
