View original image[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Hee-eun Park] Gyeonggi Province will extend the administrative order to comply with quarantine rules issued to workplaces in the province, such as logistics facilities and wedding halls, until the 28th.
On the 14th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will extend the administrative order to comply with quarantine rules at workplaces in the province to prevent the spread of COVID-19 cluster infections for two weeks, from the 15th to the 28th.
Previously, on the 1st of this month, the province had issued a two-week administrative order to comply with quarantine rules for logistics facilities, call centers, funeral halls, and wedding halls in the province. The original end date was the 14th of this month.
The administrative order to comply with quarantine rules applies to a total of 1,586 places, including △1,219 logistics facilities such as logistics warehouses △61 call centers △177 funeral halls △129 wedding halls.
According to the quarantine rules, the relevant businesses must comply with △managing visitor and worker logs △checking symptoms and restricting entry of symptomatic individuals △providing masks and hand sanitizers △prohibiting entry of those not wearing masks △keeping records of indoor disinfection, etc., in order to operate.
If violated, both business owners and users of the premises may be fined up to 3 million KRW according to the "Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act."
The province plans to implement all legally permissible sanctions, such as "claims for compensation and damages" for "all related quarantine costs including investigation, testing, and treatment" against business owners or facility users if confirmed cases occur due to violation of the administrative order.
