Chairman Jung Wooyoung Leaves Honda Korea After 19 Years
Official Retirement as of the 9th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Jung Woo-young, Chairman and CEO of Honda Korea, is stepping down after 19 years.
Honda Korea announced on the 11th that Chairman Jung officially retired as of the 9th. With Chairman Jung handing over his shares upon retirement, Honda Korea has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Honda Kikai Kogyo Co., Ltd. in Japan.
Jung Woo-young joined Kia Kikai Kogyo in 1976, served as CEO of Daelim Motor Industry, and became President and CEO of Honda Motorcycle Korea in 2001. He then took on the role of CEO of the company, which was renamed Honda Korea in 2003, and was promoted to Chairman in June last year. At that time, Lee Ji-hong, Executive Director of the Automotive Business Division, was appointed as the new President and CEO.

Chairman Jung also served as the 12th President of the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) in 2018.
