According to the legal community on the 11th, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office Citizen Committee began a meeting of the Sub-Deliberation Committee at around 2 p.m. on the 11th in the small conference room on the 13th floor of the Central Prosecutors' Office to discuss the request for convening the Investigation Deliberation Committee for Vice Chairman Lee and others.
Earlier, the Citizen Committee selected 15 members of the Sub-Deliberation Committee through a lottery. The members are known to be ordinary citizens such as teachers, former public officials, taxi drivers, and self-employed individuals.
The members of the Sub-Deliberation Committee will receive and review written opinions from the prosecution and the defense team and discuss whether it is necessary to convene the Investigation Deliberation Committee for Vice Chairman Lee and others.
The length of each written opinion is limited to within 30 pages of A4 paper. Vice Chairman Lee, Kim Jong-jung, former head of the Future Strategy Office's Strategy Team (President), Samsung C&T, and the prosecution each prepared 30-page written opinions, making the total length of the opinions approximately 120 pages.
Due to the complexity of the allegations and the voluminous written opinions, the decision of the Sub-Deliberation Committee is expected to be announced late in the afternoon.
