On the 10th, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and private business operator Streaming City to mutually cooperate in establishing the video and cultural complex and related industrial cluster called 'Streaming City' in Cheongna.
Streaming City, which signifies a city where video and cultural content are streamed in real-time, is planned to be developed on approximately 119,000㎡ in Cheongna International City, Seo-gu, Incheon.
With a total project cost of 840 billion KRW, the plan includes creating film and drama shooting studios, a media center, a world culture street, and office facilities anchored by MBC Art, a subsidiary of MBC. Additionally, a video and cultural content production cluster will be established to attract tourists, solidify the status of Cheongna as a video culture city, and promote regional economic development.
Specifically, Cheongna Streaming City will feature about ten indoor studios each approximately 3,300㎡ in size, with the exterior walls designed as outdoor shooting sets available for continuous filming.
These sets will be themed by sections, including famous European streets, Jemulpo Street from the opening port era, Broadway, a police station, and a prison?concepts that have high demand for continuous filming and can attract tourists. Outdoor studios will host actual shops or restaurants according to each concept to draw visitors.

After detailed business plans are finalized through consultations with Streaming City, a tripartite business agreement will be made, followed by a land sale contract between LH and Streaming City.
Considering that the site for Streaming City is an investment reservation area requiring a change in the implementation plan, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority expects construction to begin around 2021. The studio portion is scheduled for partial completion in 2022, with full completion targeted for 2025.
Lee Wonjae, head of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, emphasized, "We expect Streaming City to play a significant role in the development of Cheongna, and we will do our best to ensure the successful promotion of the project."
