LG Electronics Launches Industry-First 'Grade 1' Commercial Stand Air Conditioner
Vaporized Refrigerant Compressed Once More... Efficiency↑
Reducing Refrigerant Pressure Loss to Maximize Performance
LG Electronics launched the Whisen commercial stand air conditioner on the 10th, achieving the industry's first energy efficiency grade 1.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 10th that it has launched the industry's first commercial stand air conditioner with a top-tier energy consumption efficiency rating of Grade 1 in South Korea.
The new product features the introduction of numerous new technologies to maximize performance and efficiency. The 'Vapor Injection' technology separates some refrigerant during compression, converts it into gas, and then injects it, enhancing both cooling and heating performance and efficiency. This technology helps improve air conditioner efficiency by compressing the vaporized refrigerant once more.
The 'Evaporator Liquid Separation' technology was applied to boost heating performance. It separates liquid and gaseous refrigerant in the evaporator, which converts liquid refrigerant into gas. This technology extracts gaseous refrigerant from the evaporator, reducing pressure loss in the refrigerant flowing through the pipes, thereby enhancing heating performance.
The 'Inverter Control Technology,' which improves energy efficiency, contributed to the new product achieving the Grade 1 energy consumption efficiency rating. Since the energy consumption efficiency standards were strengthened in 2018, this product is the first single-type commercial stand air conditioner using one indoor unit to receive the Grade 1 rating in South Korea. LG Electronics explained that the new product offers up to 34% higher cooling efficiency and up to 42% higher heating efficiency compared to existing products.
The product is equipped with an R1 compressor that enhances efficiency and durability while reducing noise. The indoor unit uses a humidity sensor to consider not only temperature but also indoor humidity for comfortable cooling. The design of the commercial stand air conditioner, which won the prestigious 'Red Dot Design Award' main prize in 2013, has been applied to the new product.
The new product is equipped with wireless internet, allowing users to monitor and control the air conditioner by connecting it to the LG ThinQ app on their smartphones. The black box function stores data about the operating status at the moment a malfunction occurs, helping to quickly analyze the cause.
