Chonnam National University Hospital Receives 'Top Grade' in Anesthesia Aptitude Evaluation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam National University Hospital (Director Lee Sam-yong) recently received the highest grade in the anesthesia appropriateness evaluation conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA).
Jeonnam National University Hospital announced on the 9th that it scored 96.8 points overall and received a first-grade rating in the first anesthesia appropriateness evaluation, which HIRA conducted for the first time from October 2018 for three months targeting patients who underwent anesthesia (health insurance and medical aid) at advanced general hospitals and general hospitals nationwide.
This score far exceeded the overall average of 82.2 points.
The evaluation was conducted based on a total of 13 indicators, including 7 evaluation indicators and 6 monitoring indicators. Jeonnam National University Hospital achieved high scores in most evaluation items, including a perfect score of 100 in the rate of pre-anesthesia patient assessments and the measurement rate of nausea, vomiting, and pain scores in the recovery room.
Director Lee Sam-yong stated, “This evaluation once again proves that Jeonnam National University Hospital prioritizes patient safety and provides the best medical services,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to ensure safe treatment for surgical patients and promote the health of local residents.”
Meanwhile, anesthesia is a medical procedure that induces a temporary sedative state in patients, and in most cases, medical accidents or complications can be severe.
