Doosan Heavy Industries formed a sisterhood with Sangnam Market, LG Electronics with Masan Fish Market, and Hanwha Defense with Jinhae Central Market, while other companies also support local traditional markets through sisterhood partnerships.
The companies agreed to use the traditional markets regularly, and the traditional markets promised to supply high-quality goods at affordable prices.
Shim Myung-seop, president of the Masan Fish Market Merchants Association, said, "Traditional markets are struggling due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19)," and pledged, "We will strive to make the traditional markets places that customers want to visit."
