Gyeongsan City Sanitation Worker Public Recruitment Exam 28 to 1... Large Influx of People in Their 30s and 40s
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsan City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, saw a competition rate of 28.8 to 1 as 115 candidates in their 30s and 40s applied for the open recruitment exam to hire 5 sanitation workers.
In the physical fitness test held on the 5th, about half of the 114 candidates, including 138 men and 6 women, failed to meet the standard of carrying a sandbag within the designated time, causing regret. This year’s applicants were aged 20s (20 people), 30s (73 people), 40s (42 people), and 50s (9 people).
Gyeongsan City made efforts to ensure fair and accurate measurement by using electronic recording equipment during the physical fitness test. Male candidates must carry a 20kg sandbag and female candidates a 15kg sandbag, running 25 meters within 11 seconds.
About 55% of the candidates, 64 people in total, passed the target time according to this standard. During the physical test, many candidates hurriedly failed to hold the sandbag properly or dropped it, and the city reported that the sighs of regret from family and acquaintances cheering nearby were heard in many places.
Gyeongsan City plans to conduct interviews on the 16th for the 15 candidates who passed the first round by combining document screening and physical fitness scores, and announce the final 5 successful candidates on the 23rd.
