[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Ministry of Education, the National Research Foundation of Korea, and the Korea Basic Science Institute announced the results of the selection of new projects for seven science and engineering academic research support programs on the 7th.
The Ministry of Education's science and engineering academic research support program aims to strengthen the academic and research capabilities of universities, which are key to the outcomes of national research and development projects. It supports the training of the next generation of scholars, the establishment of university research infrastructure, and balanced academic development. This year, the program significantly expanded support for early-career PhD-level researchers, fostered university research institutes with research capabilities and operational foundations as research hubs within universities, and focused on providing mid- to long-term support to regional university researchers and researchers in protected and underserved academic fields.
