[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] On the 5th, National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seok made key appointments in the Speaker's Office, including appointing former Blue House Political Secretary Bok Gi-wang as Chief Secretary to the Speaker (vice-ministerial level).
The National Assembly announced that Speaker Park appointed former Secretary Bok as Chief Secretary. Bok served as a member of the 17th National Assembly and was the elected mayor of Asan City during the 5th and 6th terms. From January to August last year, he worked as the Blue House Political Secretary.
Choi Jong-gil, former Chief Secretary to the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, and Lee Yong-su, former aide, were appointed as Senior Political Secretary and Senior Policy Secretary, respectively. Han Min-su, former National Assembly spokesperson, was appointed as Senior Public Relations Secretary.

Meanwhile, Speaker Park is reportedly planning to appoint former Democratic Party member Kim Young-chun as Secretary-General of the National Assembly (ministerial level). Kim ran for his constituency, Busan Jin-gu Gap, in the 21st general election but was defeated by Seo Byung-soo of the United Future Party.
