Tongyeong Coast Guard Arrests Habitual Thief Who Stole Only High-Value Fishing Equipment

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Tongyeong Maritime Police Station announced on the 4th that they have arrested a man in his 30s, Mr. A, on charges of special theft for stealing expensive fishing equipment.
Mr. A is accused of breaking the lock of a fishing boat moored at Beopdong Port, Geoje-myeon, Geoje City, and stealing fishing rods, reels, and other items worth approximately 4 million won from inside the boat.
To prove the crime, Tongyeong Maritime Police checked 24 CCTV locations and vehicle readers around Tongyeong and Geoje for over 20 days, conducted stakeouts, and analyzed online secondhand trading sites to apprehend Mr. A.
Tongyeong Maritime Police seized 63 stolen fishing equipment items of 36 types that Mr. A had been storing at his home and elsewhere.
