Kim Hae-young: "Yoon Mi-hyang's Press Conference Was Not Sufficient to Resolve the Suspicions"
[Asia Economy Reporter Wondara] Kim Hae-young, Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized Rep. Yoon Mee-hyang's press conference, saying it was "insufficient to dispel the suspicions."
At the Democratic Party Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the morning of the 1st, Supreme Council Member Kim said, "There was a press conference by Yoon Mee-hyang last Friday (May 29)," adding, "Unfortunately, it was not enough to resolve the suspicions raised against Rep. Yoon."
He continued, "Since the prosecution investigation into Rep. Yoon has begun, it must have been difficult to disclose supporting evidence at the press conference," and added, "Even so, I think it is a responsible attitude for someone seeking public office to transparently disclose the details of the expenditures of the donations received into Rep. Yoon's account."
He then said, "I hope the public suspicions about Rep. Yoon will be resolved as soon as possible through a swift prosecution investigation," and "I hope this incident becomes an opportunity for the comfort women movement to advance."
Meanwhile, Nam In-soon, Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party, regarding the criticism within the party against Grandmother Lee Yong-soo, said, "The secondary harm against this female human rights activist has gone too far," and "Hateful remarks spreading online and offline continue. Such harm does not help achieve a just resolution."
