Yongsan-gu Recruiting 40 College Students for Summer Vacation Part-Time Jobs
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yongsan-gu (District Mayor Seong Jang-hyun) is recruiting 40 university student part-time workers for the 2020 summer vacation from June 1 to June 8.
This is to provide university students with opportunities to participate in district administration and social activities.
The working period is from July 6 to July 31, 2020, working five days a week (Monday to Friday) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the district office, health center, and community service centers.
The duties include civil service guidance, organizing study materials, and assisting with civil service tasks.
The wage is 52,600 KRW per day (including lunch allowance), and with full attendance for 20 working days, the total pay is 1,260,000 KRW (including paid leave allowance).
The selection types are ▲ Priority selection (4 students: international students from Quy Nhon, Vietnam attending Sookmyung Women’s University) ▲ Special selection (13 students: recipients of national basic livelihood security, lower-income class, national merit recipients, multicultural families, children from families with three or more children) ▲ General selection (23 students: computer lottery).
As of the announcement date (May 25, 2020), any university student registered as a resident in Yongsan-gu under the Higher Education Act (currently enrolled or on leave at a domestic university) can participate. Exceptions are allowed for those who temporarily moved their address outside the district for study while living in Yongsan with their parents.
Applications can be submitted through the ‘Citizen Participation’ section on the Yongsan-gu Office website. Members must log in, and non-members can apply after identity verification. The selection results will be posted on the district website at 10 a.m. on June 10.
Successful applicants must visit the district office’s Autonomous Administration Division between June 11 and 15 with a resident registration abstract, certificate of enrollment (or leave of absence), a copy of a bankbook in their name, and an ID card.
The district will conduct a needs survey and assign students to departments (or community centers) based on their skills and preferences.
Additionally, participating students will be appointed as ‘Administrative Monitoring Agents’ to incorporate young ideas into administration.
