On the 27th, Kwak Jung-eun wrote on her Instagram, "A small scratch on the car was turned into a news article and appeared in the entertainment section."
Kwak explained, "From the morning, my whole family, a friend, a Hertz class participant, and even a car dealer contacted me asking if I was okay. There is a slightly protruding corner in the parking space of the apartment where I live," adding, "After driving home with my eyes wide open, the moment I relaxed my grip, I slightly bumped into the corner by myself."
She continued, "Of course, my body is fine and I did not damage any other cars," and said, "It was too minor a bump to call it an accident, and I posted it as just a moment of everyday life, but during the news process it was referred to as an 'accident,' which caused many people to worry, so I am also embarrassed."
She added, "Although I have had one accident where someone else came and took full responsibility with a 10:0 ratio, I am a veteran driver with 19 years of license experience and no accidents where I caused harm to others," and said, "Even though writing speculative gossip articles based on Instagram without any investigation is the sad rule of newspapers these days, some people send me DMs criticizing why I drive while overworked and saying I don’t consider others. Seeing this, I felt I needed to set the record straight."
Furthermore, she said, "In nearly 20 years of driving five cars since getting my license, even though there were few days when my physical condition was at its best, I have never engaged in drowsy driving or drunk driving, and I never will," explaining, "Because I know my life is precious and the lives and property of others are precious."
