The Public Investigation Division 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Tae-eun) is investigating Choi this afternoon on the 27th. This is five days after the previous summons on the 22nd.
Park enlisted in the Air Force as an active duty soldier in August 2011 but returned home after three days citing thigh pain. After a re-examination, he was diagnosed with a herniated disc and served as a public service worker.
In August 2015, Choi held a press conference claiming that the X-ray submitted when Park enlisted in the Air Force and the MRI images submitted for re-examination were from different individuals, publicly raising suspicions of Park's military service corruption.
In response, Mayor Park filed a complaint against Choi for defamation by spreading false information and violations of the Assembly and Demonstration Act.
