[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] Last month, population movement slightly increased compared to the same period last year, with a significant rise in net inflow to Gyeonggi-do. Among all metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide, Seoul experienced the largest outflow of people.

The population movement rate, which indicates the number of movers per 100 registered residents, was 14.6%, up 0.7 percentage points from a year ago.
By metropolitan city and province, a significant portion of the moving population was absorbed by the Gyeonggi region. Net migration, calculated by subtracting outflows from inflows, showed net inflows in Gyeonggi (20,454), Gwangju (388), Sejong (210), and Jeju (91).
