View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The National Human Rights Commission and the Ministry of Justice signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 26th to prevent human rights violations that may occur in companies and to support victims.
At the signing ceremony held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the same day, Choi Young-ae, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, and Choo Mi-ae, Minister of Justice, shared the research achievements of the two institutions on human rights management and agreed to actively cooperate in improving related systems.
The two institutions promised to co-host forums to promote human rights management and to share related research and policy information. They also prepared measures to ensure the effectiveness of human rights due diligence that evaluates and addresses the negative human rights impacts caused by companies.
Human rights management is a management activity that establishes a human rights-centered decision-making system to prevent human rights violations that may occur in companies and to remedy victims of such violations.
