Two Players from Two Clubs Test Positive in EPL COVID-19 Tests
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Ahead of the resumption of the England Premier League (EPL), additional positive cases have been detected in the diagnosis of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The EPL office announced on the 23rd (local time) through its website, "As a result of testing 996 players and club staff on the 19th, 21st, and 22nd, 2 individuals from 2 clubs tested positive."
The office did not specify the exact clubs but stated, "Players or club staff who tested positive will self-isolate for 7 days."
Previously, COVID-19 tests conducted on 748 players and club staff on the 17th and 18th resulted in 6 positive cases from 3 clubs. These individuals are not included in this announcement.

The EPL has suspended the league since March 13 due to the spread of COVID-19. With government approval allowing the league to resume in June, the office is preparing to restart on July 12. Some club training sessions have also partially resumed.
